Active Shooter in the Workplace

Active shooter incidents have become all too frequent across the U.S. Recent national tragedies remind us that the risk is real: an active shooter incident can happen in any place, at any time. During the chaos, anyone can play an integral role in mitigating the impacts of an active shooter incident. According to statistics put out by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), one mass shooting occurs every week. Having a plan in place is critical to your safety and the safety of others.

About the speaker:

Ofc. Rick Gonzalez is currently a police officer with the City of San Ramon. He has over 20 years of law-enforcement experience (Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office and San Ramon PD). Ofc. Gonzalez has worked patrol as a Field Training Officer, K-9 handler, Crisis/Hostage Negotiator, and Drone Operator. Ofc. Gonzalez is currently assigned to the Community Resources and Crime Prevention Unit.
